Our story

An approach based on core values

The Couple and Family Therapy Clinic (CFT, online and remote) was founded by Mr. Marco Goupil in 2019. Its objective is to support couples and families in resolving their conflicts and managing their relationships.

Marco Goupil is a renowned healthcare professional in the fields of psychotherapy and interpersonal relationships. A trained nurse, he has distinguished himself particularly through his work as a psychotherapist specializing in EMDR. His approach to psychotherapy is holistic and prioritizes personalized interventions tailored to the specific needs of each individual, couple, or family.

This approach is based on fundamental values: kindness, professionalism, understanding, creation of a safe and welcoming atmosphere, and environmentally responsible mental health.

The clinic has been acquired by Service Conseil Therapeía, which now manages it. The company also operates under the name Clinique TCF and expresses its gratitude to Mr. Goupil for his dedication and contribution to the company.

our story

Our concept: remote therapy!

Many people, for various reasons, are unable to consult a psychotherapist, either because the idea of walking into a clinic is insurmountable for them, or simply because they live far from an urban center. For these individuals, as well as for those who feel more comfortable at home, we have decided to offer all of our psychotherapy consultations and other services remotely, via videoconference.

Are you hesitant about the idea of remote therapy? Be aware that studies show the results obtained this way are similar!

Psychotherapy is the cornerstone of all our consultations. At Clinique TCF, we primarily offer psychotherapy consultations!

Our approach is fundamentally based on in-depth knowledge of psychotherapy and mental well-being. Likewise, our therapists are qualified, certified, and experienced psychologists and psychotherapists. According to the Quebec Order of Psychologists, psychotherapy helps answer questions, fosters self-understanding, resolves problems, and enables individuals to make choices. It aims to bring about changes in attitudes, behavior, ways of thinking, and reactions. The ultimate goal is always to feel better.

Our support services, crisis intervention, psychological education, as well as our couple or family therapies, are inspired by the practices and techniques of psychotherapy.

Our psychotherapists combine and work with the following approaches:

•Cognitive-behavioral

•Existential-humanist

•Brief and strategic therapies

•Systemic-interactional

• Strategic coaching

These are the principles and values that guide the therapists, coaches, and other professionals at the TCF Clinic. These values include: compassion, professionalism, understanding, and creating a safe and welcoming environment.

The underlying principles are inspired by sensorimotor psychotherapy, developed by Pat Ogden, which is based on these key elements:

1. Mind-body integration: This approach considers that the body and mind are intimately linked and that traumatic experiences affect cognitive, emotional and sensorimotor aspects.

2. Body-based trauma treatment: Rather than focusing solely on thoughts and emotions, sensorimotor psychotherapy uses the body as the primary entry point for treating trauma.

3. Unassimilated somatic responses: Unresolved physical reactions to trauma contribute to many symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Therapy aims to address these somatic responses to facilitate healing.

4. Interactive regulation: The therapist plays a crucial role in helping the client regulate their dysregulated emotional and sensory states, cultivating awareness of internal bodily sensations.

These postulates and other presuppositions of NLP and Ericksonian and Humanistic Hypnosis constitute our intervention bible.
